Ava DuVernay, born August 24, 1972, in Long Beach California. DuVernay started to discover her artistic and creative side when she was a young girl due to her aunt Denise. The work she was assigned to did not leave her satisfied in journalism, so she decided to move towards the publicity industry. DuVernay was employed by a tiny studio as a Junior Publicist right after college. The DuVernay Agency is her first PR agency.
