Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American dancer and actress. Her initial roles on Broadway include roles in the shows Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford has spent her professional career working with highly acclaimed actors and directors across stage both on and off screen. She continues that award-winning work with several future projects. Ashford is scheduled to appear next alongside Kumail Nannjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is currently working in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. In the form of a Hulu Original, the film will be available on Disney Digital Television's channels. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway as a co-star with Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton is the director of the show. Ashford starred as Paula Jones, the main actor in Ryan Murphy's brand new FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon an incident that took place in the United States, involving Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other major characters. Ashford starred for two seasons on the CBS show that was a huge success, B Positive. Also, she was a part of the cult series, created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, in which she starred alongside legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford is the recipient of the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. Other Broadway appearances for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, as well as the role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance she received an Tony Award nomination. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford has now divided the time in Los Angeles and New York.
