Awkwafina
American musician and actor Awkwafina was the first to debut her sly rap tracks that tackled the issue of sexuality and race with boldly comedic perspective before expanding her reach into Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Koreans living in Forest Hills Queens. Her initial exposure to music stemmed from the trumpet. Her classical, jazz and hip-hop training began as she was just a teenager. While at school, she studied journalism as well as women's studies at college, even learning Mandarin in Beijing during a brief time. When she graduated, she started to pursue music as her main focus. In 2012, her song My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success across the Internet eventually landing on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album featured other popular hits, including the body positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC Bitche$1. It was also included in Awkwafina's NYC travel guide, published in the year 2015. Following her success as a performer and author, she decided to take on the role of actor. Apart from early series such as Girl Code and Tawk she has also appeared in films such as Neighbors 2, Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018 she scored breakout role in a few prominent films such as Dude ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released by"At Fina We Trust in June of the same year.
